Highlights from our October 18th sale:

Lot 194: Daniel Rose (1749- 1827), Reading (Pennsylvania) fine Chippendale solid walnut carved tall case clock, 7' 11" in height. The painted dial suggestive of American origin with the four seasons depicted and a central seconds hand (now missing), and a watercolor portrait mounted within the waist door, with bas relief carving throughout the case. Daniel Rose is a listed clock maker working as early as 1779, but also served as a Lieutenant in the Revolutionary War, later serving as a legislator representing Pennsylvania.

Lot 149: Attr. William H. Rinehart (American, 1825-1874) a white marble sculpture on an associated cast stone base, the statue being 36" in height.

Lot 135: An 18th C. American walnut inlaid blanket chest, 25" X 52" X 23". The chest inlaid with the name "Barbara Schmittin" and dated "1787", the interior fit with old hardware.

Lot 238: Louis XV style bombe walnut veneer marble topped commode, featuring fine and profuse gilt brass mounts and large Rococo style pulls and old locks. Two drawers are located above two drawers. Measures 35" X 52" X 26".

Lot 266:Theodore Haviland, Limoges dinner ware set, consisting of over 100 pieces: to include 8 dinner plates and 11 desert plates; 12 larger bowls; 12 roll and 12 butter plates; 12 soups, 11 cups and saucers; 3 serving platters of various size; 2 different sized covered vegetable bowls and a dome topped vegetable server; a gravy boat and serving bowls.
